Ballet workshop based on Coppelia with Valerie Sunderland

In this workshop students will take a short class, followed by the opportunity to learn repertoire from the comic ballet Coppélia, about a mechanical doll that comes to life. This workshop is open to boys and girls at Grade 5 or above. Pointe work will be included for those who are able. There will be an informal sharing of work for friends and family at the end of the day.

Valerie Sunderland trained at the Royal Ballet School, The College of the Royal Academy of Dance and at the Royal College of Music. For many years Valerie was the character dance teacher for the Royal Ballet Upper School. She is currently an examiner and tutor for the Royal Academy of Dance.
