Harry Galloway
East Youth Dance Ambassador for Hertfordshire
Dance biography
As well as being a student in the DanceEast Academy, I dance with the Junction Youth Dance Company (JYDC), in Cambridge. Before joining the Academy I was a member of DanceEast’s AcademyKidz.
I am currently studying GCSE Dance and am also a member of a ‘competition squad’ for dance at school. This ‘squad’ was the regional winner in the British Red Cross competition, Dance for Life.
As a member of JYDC and the school 'competition squad' I have been lucky to perform showcase dances at a variety of events and venues including: Milton Keynes Fringe, Energise and at The Junction, Cambridge.
I love dance because it gives me the freedom to express my emotions. I have made many new friends and have a confidence that I never thought I would feel.
What do you want to achieve in your role?
I am passionate about dance: it has given me a new confidence and direction in my life. I want to share this passion with other young people, and promote all that can be achieved through dance in the region.
What are your aims as an East Youth Dance Ambassador?
My aims are to:
- Inspire talented young people to dance.
- Raise awareness of dance in the region.
- Meet and work with like minded people.
