Martha Burke
East Youth Dance Ambassador for Suffolk
Dance biography
My favourite thing to do in the world is perform. I started taking ballet, modern and tap classes when I was five and I haven’t stopped loving doing them since. I attend Angela Rowe School of Dance in Ipswich, and more recently started musical theatre dance classes at DanceEast and also with Emma Dodd’s School of Performing Arts. Musical theatre classes are such a fun experience. Every class is amazing and I really look forward to going.
Performing is the best! I just love being on stage; I get such a buzz.
What do you want to achieve in your role?
I became a Youth Dance Agent because I want to let other young people know how great it is to dance, and also to inspire them to try it.
Dance is fun, and great for your health and social life. I want other young people to be able have some of the great experiences that I have had as a result of my dance classes!
What are your aims as an East Youth Dance Ambassador?
My aims are to:
- To spread the word about dance opportunities for young people.
- To get more young people to join dance classes.
- To get more young people to watch dance performances.
